A Low-Barrier Stabilization Hub in Sussex County

Higher Ground Outreach operates as a low-barrier stabilization hub designed to meet individuals exactly where they are, without preconditions or requirements that often prevent access to care. Each day, we provide consistent access to meals, hygiene, peer support, and a safe space where individuals can begin to stabilize physically and emotionally.

Rather than focusing only on crisis response, our model is built on the belief that consistency is the intervention. By offering reliable, daily support, we build trust with individuals who have often been disconnected from traditional systems. This trust becomes the foundation for meaningful engagement—whether that leads to housing, treatment, employment, or simply the first step toward stability.

Our approach recognizes that stabilization must come before transformation. Through presence, routine, and relationship-building, we create an environment where individuals can begin to regain a sense of safety, dignity, and direction at their own pace.

Each day, we provide consistent access to meals, hygiene, peer support, and a safe space where individuals can begin to stabilize physically and emotionally, serving 30–50 individuals daily and providing 100–150 meals each day.

In a system that is often fragmented and difficult to navigate, Higher Ground Outreach serves as a consistent point of connection—bridging the gap between crisis and long-term recovery.
