Homeless Facts

The National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty currently estimates that each year that at least 2.5 to 3.5 million Americans sleep in shelters, Transitional Housing, and public places not meant for human habitation. At least an additional 7.4 million have lost their own homes and are doubled-up with others due to economic necessity.

MAKING A DONATION

HGO Inc is always seeking community support to continue our outreach efforts. We currently accept both monetary and in-kind donations of Crock Pot Meals, Food Donations, Men’s and Women’s Clothing, Shoes, Paper Towels, Paper Cups, Plates and Bowls, Cleaning Supplies, Backpacks, Boots (men’s and women’s any size) and, Flashlights/Batteries, Blankets, Boot Socks, Zone 1 Day Bus Passes, Bikes (New and Used), and Gas Cards.

Our Mission

We at Higher Ground see each individual as a spiritual person of value and dignity, worthy of assistance on their personal journey. Our mission is to see families and individuals free from homelessness and addictions, with our assistance to become mentally, physically, and spiritually healthier. Now equipped with all the necessary skills to reenter society and their community as a positive member, work and sustain their housing needs. HGO encourages everyone to create relationships of love and service in their community in whatever capacity they are able to. We actively seek to help those who have become homeless and/or addicted to help those recieve the assistance they desperately need.
